The national vision for Barbados is to be a fully developed society that is prosperous, socially just and globally competitive by the year 2025. The national strategic plan embodies the theme “Global Excellence, Barbadian Traditions”, which conveys the message of a Barbados that is a successful and globally competitive society, fully integrated into the world economy, but at the same time capable of preserving and strengthening its own identity, enterprise, national sovereignty, and traditions.
NISE will therefore be at the forefront of a nationwide effort to help Barbados consistently deliver Service Excellence and be recognised internationally for this. In this way, an enabling environment will be created within which Barbados will be able to attain its vision of being a developed country by 2025.
Our mission is to promote and facilitate the achievement of sustainable excellence within organisations and to assist individuals in developing excellence as an ethic.
OUR GOALS ARE:
To create a national culture of Service Excellence
To help Barbados become known worldwide for Service Excellence
To motivate and provide the tools for all Barbadians to become involved in the achievement of Service Excellence
NISE was officially launched on the 38th year of Independence of Barbados in a spectacular ceremony at Heroes Square in Bridgetown with the signing of the NISE Declaration. Representing the Social Partnership was Prime Minister the Right Honourable Owen Seymour Arthur as National Champion, Chairman of the Congress of Trade Unions and Staff Associations of Barbados (CTUSAB) Sir Roy Trotman and Chris de Caires then head of the Barbados Private Sector Association who all signed on behalf of their various agencies. On that occasion the Prime Minister announced that service excellence was no longer a desirable option but an imperative for Barbados.
